Prime coating – only with Caramba primer
Caramba’s high-performance primer light grey is a quick-drying primer based on acrylate-alkyd resin for metallic surfaces such as aluminium and steel. Before each paint work on vehicle parts, bodywork or devices made from the above metals, it is recommended to apply this product as a penetrating primer to protect the surface against corrosion and weathering and to optimally show off the overlying coloured paint. Caramba primer light grey is especially perfect for repairing paint damage or for large-surface paint work on vehicles, machinery or metallic parts that are exposed to weathering or other influences, which would otherwise attack the metallic surface.
Tips on how to use Caramba primer light grey
The ideal temperature range for the use of this product is 16 to 25°C. Surfaces to be coated should be dry, free of dust and residues such as oil, fat or rust and ground if required. Caramba primer is supplied in an aerosol can. Shake the can well before use until you can hear the mixing balls clashing. Then, spray the primer on the surface from a distance of 20 to 30 cm and allow the primer to dry. The primer drying time depends on the ambient temperature, surface condition and the coating thickness. Normally, it takes no longer than approx. 20 minutes. After that, Caramba primer can be easily painted over with itself and with the most standard paints based on nitrocellulose and water. Our high-performance primer light grey is free of heavy metals and of CFCs.
